Attorney Melissa Heifetz saw a gap in services to people with IDD who become involved with the criminal justice system. Often misunderstood by professionals with no training or background in developmental disabilities, they face extreme consequences for their actions. In order to improve outcomes, she has developed an alternative program called Advocacy Partners and will share with us her experiences and insights.
