Technology Resources for People with IDD

Online Resources and Internet Safety

The Internet has dramatically changed the way we interact with the world and has provided many with a way to stay connected. However the internet can also put people at risk for cyberbullying, exposure to inappropriate material, online predators and the possibility of revealing too much personal information. Take a look at the resources below on internet safety, online communications, and how to best support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities on the internet.

What We Offer

The New Jersey Self-Advocacy project team offers a wide variety of trainings for adults with IDD. A member of our team will present a training for your group, free of charge! We are currently offering virtual trainings using Zoom or Google Meet.

Check out our Training page and fill out our Training Request Form to get started. If you don't see what you're looking for, feel free to request a training topic!

We also have a variety of virtual activities each week including interactive Zoom trainings and webinars as well as Youtube tutorials.

Tech Needs Survey

Take the survey below to let us know what kind of tech items or assistance you, your loved ones, or the people you support are in need of. This data will be utilized to inform future advocacy efforts to address this issue and/or develop a funding proposal to secure needed technology.
