Calendar of Events

Join guest presenter Dori Stern, a certified musical therapist, in a fun and interactive musical experience that allows participants to engage in a variety of musical activities. She will lead the group in stretching and dancing along with the music. She will also discuss the parts of a song, and as a group, we will gather ideas and write a brand new song of our own! The session will also include an ending sing-a-long of a well-known tune.

Dori Stern is a board certified music therapist who just completed a Master's degree in music psychotherapy. Dori worked in various special education settings as an educator and musician before embarking on a graduate degree in music therapy. As a music therapy student, she interned at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, working with children ranging in age from 4 - 18. Dori gained experience working with adults during her field placement on an in-patient psych unit in Brooklyn. She also feels lucky to have the personal experience of being the big sister of a Special Olympics NY state champion.
