The Impact of the COVID pandemic on Social Security benefits for persons with IDD
On Sept 14, 2021 The Arc of New Jersey presented an informative webinar explaining the impact and major changes that occured to the Social Security Administration due to the COVID pandemic. Although most of these changes have been helpful, some have also had unintended consequences. Included in this discussion were additional forms of income supports which were passed as part of COVID relief, such as stimulus payments, unemployment insurance, and revisions to tax credits benefiting low-income individuals.

COVID-19 Vaccinations for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in New Jersey
The Arc of New Jersey is delighted to present a free webinar on COVID-19 vaccinations for individuals with IDD with speaker David Adinaro, MD, M.Eng, FACEP, the New Jersey Department of Health as Deputy Commissioner for Public Health Services in June 2020. David has had a long and distinguished medical career, including serving as the Chief of Emergency Medicine and Vice President/Chief Medical Officer at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson. During this webinar, Dr. Adinaro will explain New Jersey's plans for COVID-19 vaccinations for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their caregivers. He will be able to provide important information, including an anticipated timeframe of when and where the COVID-19 vaccine will be available.

The Arc of New Jersey is pleased to present a free webinar, Up-to-Date Information on the COVID-19 Vaccine, for families and staff at agencies serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Webinar speaker Leone Murphy, APN, the Chair of The Arc of New Jersey's Mainstreaming Medical Care Program, will present valuable information about the COVID vaccines that have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Attendees will also learn the importance of recognizing the typically mild side effects of the vaccine (e.g., headache, muscle soreness, or low-grade fever) and how to manage them.
