On June 1, The Arc of New Jersey's Mainstreaming Medical Care Program hosted its 29th Annual Conference at the Westin Princeton Hotel. The day-long conference began with opening remarks from The Arc of New Jersey President, Joanne Bergin; Executive Director, Thomas Baffuto; Chair of the Mainstreaming Medical Care Advisory Board, Leone Murphy; and Director of the Mainstreaming Medical Care Program, Beverly Roberts. Carole Johnson, Commissioner of New Jersey's Department of Human Services, started the morning Plenary Session emphasizing the significance of helping families and staff understand how to access health care services for individuals with I/DD.  Matthew Holder, Chief Executive Officer at Lee Specialty Clinic in Louisville KY, followed with a very resourceful keynote presentation addressing the healthcare crisis that individuals with I/DD encounter.

The 29th Annual Conference also featured five morning and five afternoon workshops that focused on a variety of timely, highly-informative medical, dental, and behavioral health care issues that are important to the developmental disability community. We would like to thank all conference attendees and exhibitors, as well as the generous support from the sponsors.
