 to recognize distress\, respond effectively\, and have honest conversation
 s can make a meaningful difference.\n\nJoin us for an engaging and candid 
 discussion exploring mental health\, emotional distress\, crisis support\,
  and how we can become more confident navigating difficult conversations. 
 Attendees will gain practical insight into recognizing when someone may ne
 ed additional support\, responding with empathy and intention\, and connec
 ting individuals and families with appropriate resources.\n\nAbout the Pre
 senter:\nJohn Burdi serves as the Coordinator of Information and Referral 
 for The Arc of New Jersey and works with the Children’s Advocacy and Plann
 ing for Adult Life programs. In his role\, John works directly with childr
 en and families\, providing individualized systems advocacy related to Ear
 ly Intervention\, the Children’s System of Care and PerformCare\, special 
 education\, and related services. Before joining The Arc\, John was an ele
 mentary-level teacher for students with autism.\n\nJohn also works with CO
 NTACT of Mercer County\, which participates in the national 988 Suicide & 
 Crisis Lifeline and provides additional services including a Listening Lin
 e\, Chat & Text\, and Reassurance Program. Through this work\, John provid
 es support to individuals experiencing emotional distress and crisis and h
 as developed a deeper passion for mental health advocacy and intervention.
  Inspired by his work with CONTACT\, John is continuing his education in C
 ounseling at Saint Peter’s University.
