The Arc of New Jersey and the New Jersey Self-Advocacy Project are very pleased to receive a $25,000 grant from The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey to fund the Healthy Lifestyles Project. This is the 6th year we have received this funding for this very special project and we are grateful to The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey as these monies will help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities learn how to live a healthy lifestyle through diet, exercise and stress management.
“People with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New Jersey have benefited greatly because of Horizon and the Horizon Foundation. The Horizon Foundation has been a generous partner to The Arc of New Jersey and many, many other community based non-profit organizations with a simple but commendable goal of supporting the state's most vulnerable citizens. Although frequently excluded from this type of education, hundreds of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have learned how to live a healthy lifestyle and to improve their lives through a proper diet, increased exercise and stress reduction, because of the Horizon Foundation. Horizon continues to dramatically and positively impact people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They are not only a laudable corporate citizen, they are also passionate and committed to helping the people of this State. Horizon consistently demonstrates how they care about New Jersey and they are a stable and financially secure not for-profit and an exemplary example to others.” --Thomas Baffuto, Executive Director of The Arc of New Jersey
