A memorable and deeply moving day in August 2012, when members of leading NJ disability organizations were invited by Gov. Christie to tour the site of the new World Trade Center. Robert (Bob) Hage represented The Arc of NJ, memorializing in perpetuity the organization's name, as well as the names of his and wife Odette Adrian's three children, Annika, Maya and Vann. Bill Baroni, Deputy Executive Director of The Port Authority of NY & NJ, and Vinny Napolitano, Constituencies Liaison for the Office of the Governor, accompanied the members of the tour.
On July 28, 2012, the NJ Self Advocacy Project hosted a Disability Awareness event at Jenkinson's Boardwalk in Point Pleasant, NJ. Tons of visitors stopped by to learn more about people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to sign an End the R-word pledge, and just to give us a Jersey Shore welcome! Thanks to everyone who came out for this day of fun, sun and raising awareness!
