The Sibling Outreach Project
The Sibling Outreach Project is a special project of Hinkle & Fingles, Attorneys at Law, sponsored by The Arc of New Jersey.
As parents age, siblings of individuals with disabilities begin to wonder whether they will have to financially support a disabled sibling, or whether increased
caregiving demands will seriously interfere with their own family responsibilities and compromise their personal goals. With adequate information and quality
planning, siblings can assume realistic and meaningful new responsibilities without disruption to their own lives.
The Sibling Outreach Project will provide practical information on the many legal issues affecting persons with developmental disabilities. The Project is composed
of a booklet, workshops and the opportunity to ask the attorneys at Hinkle & Fingles specific questions.
Informational Booklet
The booklet includes information on special education, adult services, guardianship, Medicare and Medicaid, estate planning, Social Security and Supplemental Security Income.
To receive a copy of the "Guide for Siblings", please email your name, address and phone number to The Arc of NJ, or call 732-246-2525.
