The Arc of New Jersey Department of Governmental Affairs
Jessica Ganz, Director
As the state's largest advocacy organization for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, The Arc of New Jersey plays an integral role in
developing statewide policy affecting individuals with developmental disabilities. State agencies rely on our expertise to make critical decisions concerning the
welfare of people with developmental disabilities. Our governmental affairs office acts as a conduit between our families and the State agencies that serve them to
facilitate communication regarding issues that are impacting individuals on a daily basis. The Arc of New Jersey works collaboratively with the Legislature and the
Administration to insure that the well-being of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a priority both legislatively and in each fiscal budget.
The Arc of New Jersey's governmental affairs office works on a variety of issues, including: inclusive
educational systems; living and housing supports; quality and accessible medical care & Medicaid managed care; prevention issues; Waiting List reductions; early intervention services; transportation;
victimization; social security laws; civil rights; accessibility and employment. Our goal is two-fold: to
create public awareness in New Jersey's communities while keeping the concerns of our population in the legislative forefront.
